Product Description

Frigate’s Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves utilize a robust, multi-piece split body construction designed to securely anchor the ball under extreme pressure configurations. By separating the mechanical sealing load from the stem, this specialized configuration ensures smooth quarter-turn operation and extended service cycles in highly corrosive or abrasive fluid environments.

Does Frigate’s TMBV design feature Double Block and Bleed (DBB) capabilities?

Yes. Our trunnion mounted ball valves are engineered with independent, spring-loaded seats that seal on both the upstream and downstream sides simultaneously. This allows the body cavity pressure to be safely vented or drained while the valve is in both the fully open or fully closed positions. 

How do your trunnion mounted ball valves handle fire-safe pipeline requirements?

All Frigate TMBVs are designed and certified to meet API 607 and API 6FA fire-test standards. In the event of a fire that destroys the soft primary elastomer seals, a secondary metal-to-metal seating mechanism automatically engages against the ball to prevent catastrophic process medium leakage. 

What factory pressure tests are conducted on these valves prior to shipment?

Every single valve undergoes rigorous factory acceptance testing (FAT) in strict compliance with API 6D and API 598. This includes high-pressure hydrostatic body and seat tests, as well as low-pressure pneumatic seat testing to ensure zero-leakage performance before leaving our facility. 

Are these trunnion mounted valves suitable for low-temperature applications?

Yes. By utilizing certified ASTM A350 LF2 forging materials, our valves retain excellent impact toughness and pressure containment capabilities in low-temperature environments. 

Can Frigate customize the dimensions or mounting flanges for specific setups?

Absolutely. While we maintain a standardized millimeter-based production envelope for sizes 2” through 12”, our engineering team can modify top-works mounting plates and adapter flanges to align with your exact pipeline footprint.
