What are the primary space-saving benefits of a Frigate DBB valve?

A traditional double block and bleed system requires two separate isolation valves, a bleed valve, and multiple spool pieces or tees. Frigate’s integrated DBB valve combines all of these components into a single, compact body, reducing physical space requirements by up to 70% and drastically minimizing potential fugitive emission leak points. 

Can these valves handle highly corrosive or sour gas fluids?

Yes. Our DBB valves are manufactured in a wide array of high-grade materials of construction (M.O.C.), including Super Duplex Stainless Steel (SDSS), Monel, Hastelloy, and Inconel. These materials are explicitly selected and certified to withstand highly corrosive environments, sour gas, and high-chloride conditions. 

When should I specify an extended bonnet configuration?

Extended bonnets are highly recommended for extreme temperature operations, such as cryogenic LNG services or high-temperature thermal oil lines. The extension moves the stem packing away from the extreme process temperatures, protecting the seals from thermal degradation and ensuring smooth, reliable manual or automated operation. 

What is the difference between the Key Block and 3-Piece valve designs shown in your technical sheet?

Key Block configurations feature a highly compact, robust block-style body typically suited for tight spaces, instrument isolation, and direct flange-to-thread conversions. The 3-Piece design allows for easier inline maintenance and servicing of internal components, making it ideal for process pipelines where rapid wear-part replacement is critical.
