Technical Advantages

By using high-grade superalloys like Monel and Inconel alongside optimized extended bonnets, our valves minimize thermal energy transfer and completely prevent stem-packing freeze-ups. The specialized bellow variant offers a secondary containment barrier that entirely eliminates fugitive media emissions, delivering unrivaled safety in high-frequency cycling environments.

Having Doubts? Our FAQ

How does Frigate guarantee a bubble-tight shutoff at extreme temperatures like -196°C?

Our cryogenic valves utilize specialized thermoplastic seat inserts (such as PCTFE) paired with a precision-machined ball. The design leverages the thermal contraction properties of the materials, ensuring the seal actually tightens as the temperature drops to eliminate low-pressure micro-leakage.

Which material of construction should be selected for aggressive cryogenic fluids?

While Stainless Steel (SS) and Duplex variants handle standard applications well, high-performance superalloys like Monel, Hastelloy, and Inconel are highly recommended for high-stress or corrosive cryogenic chemical environments.

Why do Frigate cryogenic ball valves feature noticeably extended stems?

The extended stem design moves the handle and stem packing away from the frozen liquid flow. This insulates the packing area, keeps it functional at warmer temperatures, and prevents ice buildup from locking the handle.

Can these valves be customized for unique high-pressure industrial setups?

Yes. Our valves are rated from Class 800# up to Class 2500# and can be tailored with specific end connections—including threaded, socket-welded, butt-welded, or flanged ends—to seamlessly fit your piping footprint.

What are the exact minimum and maximum operational temperatures for this valve lineup?

These valves are engineered to perform reliably across a wide low-temperature range, operating seamlessly from a high of -50°C down to extreme cryogenic environments reaching -196°C.
