Does Frigate support double-sided SMT assembly and mixed-technology (SMT + Through-Hole) boards?

Absolutely. Our production lines are fully equipped for multi-pass reflow processing to handle dense double-sided SMT layouts. We also feature wave soldering and selective soldering infrastructure to seamlessly integrate through-hole components on the same assembly. 

Are laser-cut stencils and setup fixtures included in the initial tooling quote?

Yes, all necessary high-precision laser-cut stencils, pick-and-place programming, and custom reflow fixtures are calculated and clearly itemized in our initial engineering and tooling quote. This ensures complete transparency with no hidden setup fees when transitioning to production.

How do you guarantee the quality of fine-pitch BGA and LGA placements?

Every board with BGA, LGA, or QFN components undergoes mandatory, automated 3D X-ray inspection (AXI) post-reflow to screen for hidden internal defects like solder voiding, bridging, and micro-cracking that standard optical inspection cannot detect.

Do you perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews before assembly begins?

Yes, our engineering team conducts a comprehensive DFM and DFT (Design for Testing) analysis on every project before releasing it to production to identify footprint mismatches, trace clearance risks, or thermal imbalances that could impact yield.
