Product Description

Frigate’s oil pan housings are purpose-built to safeguard high-performance defence engines against critical oil starvation during steep-angle terrain navigation and high-G tactical maneuvers. By pairing lightweight, military-grade metallurgy with rigorous structural testing, we deliver components that optimize the total cost of ownership while maximizing battlefield uptime.

Yield Strength

≥ 240 MPa to resist high-impact shock and blast waves

Elongation at Break

Greater than or equal to 3.5% to prevent catastrophic shattering under stress

Sealing Interface Flatness

≤ 0.05 mm to ensure zero-leakage performance under extreme vibration

Thread Precision

Class 2B / Metric 6H high-torque inserts for secure structural fastening

Operating Temperature Range

-40° C to +150° C structural stability

Corrosion Resistance

> 500 hours salt spray testing per ASTM B117

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)

X-ray Radiography (ASTM E155 Class 1) and Liquid Penetrant Inspection

Cleanliness Standard

ISO 16232 / NAS 1638 compliant particulate limits for sensitive oil circuits

Dimensional Tolerance

ISO 2768-m (Fine) to ensure perfect structural integration with the engine block

Baffle & Drainage Design

Integrated anti-slosh baffles with magnetic drain plugs for particulate trapping

Technical Advantages

Our housings feature an advanced internal baffle geometry that eliminates engine oil sloshing and guarantees a continuous, uninterrupted lubricant feed during sudden kinetic movements. Furthermore, the localized structural ribbing drastically reduces cyclic vibration wear and dampens acoustic signatures, rendering vehicles less detectable in field operations.

How We Delivered

Complex geometries engineered solutions that move businesses forward.

Having Doubts? Our FAQ

What material options does Frigate offer for defence-grade oil pan housings?

We primarily manufacture housings using high-grade cast aluminum alloys (such as A356-T6) for weight-sensitive applications, as well as ductile iron or cast steel for heavy-armored vehicles requiring maximum impact resistance.

How does Frigate ensure the sealing integrity of these components under high vibrations?

Every housing undergoes multi-axis CNC machining to achieve a sealing interface flatness of less than 0.05mm. We validate this structural sealing through precision coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspections and rigorous pressure leak testing.

Are Frigate’s manufacturing processes compliant with defense-specific standards?

Yes. Our production facilities and workflows support strict adherence to MIL-SPEC requirements, including CARC painting compliance, ASTM non-destructive testing (NDT), and ISO 16232 industrial cleanliness protocols.

Can you accommodate custom internal geometry modifications for existing engine platforms?

Absolutely. Our engineering team utilizes advanced casting solidification and fluid simulation software to integrate custom anti-slosh baffles, specific pickup tube clearances, or localized structural ribbing based on your exact engine blueprint.

How do you handle Quality Assurance and tracing for defense orders?

We provide comprehensive documentation packages for every batch, including raw material test certificates (MTRs), First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR), dimensional layouts, and X-ray or liquid penetrant NDT inspection data.
