Product Description

Site survey precedes fabrication on all full assembly projects. Frigate’s team visits the installation site to confirm machinery mounting datum positions, floor flatness, overhead craneage availability, site access dimensions, and any constraints that affect section split strategy or installation sequence.

Survey data is reconciled with your machinery layout drawing before fabrication dimensions are locked — not discovered as conflicts during installation. For machine tool OEM programmes where the enclosure is commissioned alongside the machine at multiple customer sites, Frigate supplies the site survey protocol and coordinates survey timing with the machine installation programme.

Interlock Function Test

100% of access doors and maintenance hatches actuated and interlock switch function verified;

Acoustic Measurement

Insertion loss measured per ISO 11546 with machinery at rated load; measurement positions per ISO 11546 Annex;

IP Verification

IP test on assembled enclosure at site with all seals, glands, and access covers installed; IP65 verified by hose test per IEC 60529;

Coolant Seal Test

CNC enclosure coolant system seal pressure test at 1.5× operating pressure; 30-minute hold;

Wash-Down Test

IP69K wash-down test on food and beverage and pharmaceutical enclosures at site;

RAMS Documentation

Risk Assessment and Method Statement covering all site activities — section handling, craneage, hot works, working at height, confined space where applicable;

Site Safety Compliance

Frigate site team work to your site safety rules; PPE, permit-to-work, and induction requirements met before work commences;

We're a machine tool OEM and need the enclosure installed at multiple customer sites. How does Frigate manage that as a repeat programme?

Repeat multi-site OEM programmes run on a standing survey protocol — Frigate’s team conducts a site survey at each customer facility before the enclosure sections are dispatched, using a standardised survey procedure developed from the first installation. RAMS documentation is retained and updated per site. The installation team is allocated against your machine delivery calendar rather than booked per order, which eliminates the scheduling conflict that arises when installation capability is treated as a separate procurement on each delivery. 

The enclosure installation needs to be coordinated with our robot integrator's safety system commissioning. How does Frigate handle that interface?

Frigate’s commissioning supervisor coordinates directly with your robot integrator’s safety system commissioning engineer to sequence interlock installation and function test within the safety system validation programme. The interlock function test sheet from Frigate’s commissioning sign-off is formatted to support your robot integrator’s safety validation documentation requirement — not as a separate deliverable that needs to be reconciled after the fact. 

Our site has a strict permit-to-work system. How does Frigate's team operate under that?

Frigate’s site team operates under your permit-to-work system as standard — site induction, permit application, and hot works permits are managed by Frigate’s site supervisor as part of the normal installation programme. Permit requirements are captured during the pre-mobilisation RAMS review so that permit lead times are factored into the installation schedule before the team mobilises to site. 

We need acoustic commissioning results to demonstrate regulatory noise compliance. What does Frigate provide?

Frigate provides a site acoustic measurement report per ISO 11546 covering measurement positions, machinery operating conditions at time of test, measured insertion loss result, and comparison against the specified target. The report is formatted for submission to your regulatory or planning authority as part of your noise compliance documentation. If the result falls short of the target, Frigate identifies the acoustic deficiency, applies the remedial treatment at site, and re-measures before the compliance report is issued. 

What is Frigate's scope boundary with the machine tool supplier during installation?

Frigate installs and commissions the enclosure — structural assembly, alignment to the machinery datum, all internal enclosure provisions, and enclosure commissioning verification. The machine tool supplier installs and commissions the machine — mechanical installation, electrical connection, and machine control commissioning. The interface between the two scopes — coolant line connection, electrical conduit entry through the enclosure, and interlock circuit wiring — is defined in the scope boundary document issued at project start so both parties have a written record of what each is responsible for before installation begins.
