Manufactured from premium, flight-certified cast or forged blocks, these housings feature exceptional strength-to-weight ratios and integrated cooling channels for superior heat dissipation.

Which material grades do you recommend for flight-weight, high-temperature housings?

We typically recommend Aluminum 7075-T6 or Titanium Ti-6Al-4V for standard high-strength aerospace applications. For extreme thermal operating environments near the exhaust or turbine sections, we utilize specialized magnesium alloys or Inconel superalloys. 

How does Frigate guarantee internal casting or forging integrity before final machining?

Every raw block or near-net-shape casting undergoes extensive non-destructive testing (NDT), including ultrasonic testing and digital X-ray inspection. This ensures that no subsurface porosity, inclusions, or micro-cracks compromise the structural integrity of the housing. 

Can Frigate accommodate custom geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)?

Yes, our engineering and production teams work directly from your 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings. We routinely execute tight GD&T requirements, such as true position and flatness tolerances down to 0.01 mm for critical mating faces. 

Do you provide AS9100 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)?

Absolutely. All initial production and prototype batches are delivered with full AS9100 Rev D documentation, including AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports, material test certificates, heat treatment charts, and CMM dimension logs. 

What surface finishes are applied to prevent galvanic corrosion in aerospace environments?

We offer a full suite of Nadcap-compliant surface treatments, including Type Chemical Conversion coatings, hard-coat anodizing, and specialized aerospace primers/topcoats. These treatments protect the housing from environmental moisture, hydraulic fluids, and galvanic action when mated with steel components.
