Fabricated electrical cabinets manufactured to Eaton and GE approved enclosure specifications, dimensionally, structurally, and materially conformant to those manufacturers’ published cabinet standards. Frigate holds approved vendor status with both Eaton and GE, with type-tested construction documentation available to support project specifications and tender submissions that mandate approved enclosures. Cabinets are manufactured to the approved specification and supplied with full approval documentation, test reports, and material declarations per shipment.

Our project specification requires Eaton approved enclosures. How do we confirm Frigate's approval covers our specific equipment family?

Contact Frigate’s engineering team with the specific Eaton equipment family, cabinet format, current rating, and IP rating required. Written confirmation of approval status and documentation availability is returned within 1–2 working days before any order commitment is required.

We need a modification to the standard approved cabinet, does that void the approval?

It depends on the modification. Minor modifications, additional gland entries within the approved entry zone, standard RAL colour changes, bracket additions that don’t affect rated performance are typically within tolerance of the approved specification and do not require re-testing. Modifications that affect rated current path, short-circuit withstand, or IP rating are assessed individually against the approval scope before production is confirmed.

What specific type test reports does Frigate supply, and in what format?

Frigate supplies current IEC 61439-1 type test reports covering short-circuit withstand, temperature rise, dielectric, and mechanical impact tests, all conducted by an accredited test laboratory. Reports are in PDF format, identified by test report number, and formatted for direct submission to project verification authorities or independent checking engineers without additional processing.

We build panels using both Eaton and GE equipment across different projects. Can Frigate supply approved cabinets for both from a single source?

Yes. Frigate can supply approved cabinets for bo programmes under a single supply arrangement. Documentation is provided per shipment specific to the applicable manufacturer’s approval.

Our client's engineer is asking for a declaration that the cabinet is a type-tested assembly (TTA). Can Frigate provide that?

Yes. Frigate provides a written IEC 61439-1 TTA verification statement per shipment confirming that the cabinet is a type-tested assembly, not a partially type-tested or design-verified assembly. This statement, along with the supporting test reports, satisfies the TTA declaration requirement in project specifications and independent verification authority submissions.
