50A to 1200A (40°C saltwater immersion rating)

Dimensions

Barrel ID: 3mm to 40mm; Tongue thickness: 3.5mm min. for all sizes

Weight

30g to 2.5kg (buoyancy-neutral options available)

Product Description

Standard lugs often fail with rust, loose fits, or weak holds, leading to breakdowns and added costs. Our Marine-Grade Lugs solve this with top-quality copper and special coatings, ensuring dependable power delivery without the hassle.

Barrel Length

35mm to 150mm (extended drainage channels on saltwater versions)

Termination Type

Double-bolt marine clamps or recessed set-screw designs

Crimping Compatibility

Hydraulic crimping (marine-grade dies) with anti-corrosive paste injection

Operating Temperature Range

-40°C to 105°C (submersible) / -40°C to 150°C (deck-mounted)

Surface Finish

Electroless nickel underplate (5μm) + hot-dip tin (15μm) with self-healing coating

Voltage Rating

600V AC (standard) / 5kV (subsea versions with ceramic insulation)

Tensile Strength

380 MPa (naval brass) / 550 MPa (nickel-aluminum bronze)

Environmental Resistance

MIL-STD-889B compliant dissimilar metal protection, 2000hr salt spray (ASTM B117), UV-resistant for topside use

Standards Compliance

ABS, DNV-GL, Lloyds Register, MIL-DTL-5015, IEEE 45

Installation Method

Torque-controlled with marine-grade stainless hardware (316L) and anti-seize compounds

Conductor Compatibility

Tinned copper marine cable (JIS C3525), aluminum marine wire (IEC 60092-350)

Technical Advantages

Marine environments demand lugs that combat both corrosion and mechanical stress. Our Marine-Grade Lugs achieve 380 MPa tensile strength with cathodic protection compatibility, outperforming stainless steel in saltwater immersion tests.

The electroless nickel underlayer prevents crevice corrosion, while recessed set-screw designs maintain torque under constant vibration. Hydraulic crimping with injected anti-corrosive paste creates permanent seals that exceed IEEE 45 moisture penetration standards.

Having Doubts? Our FAQ

Check all our Frequently Asked Question

What certifications do your marine lugs carry for international vessel compliance?

Our lugs meet all major classification society standards including ABS Type Approval, DNV-GL TA-2-7.1, and Lloyds Register Type Approval for marine electrical systems. They comply with SOLAS Chapter II-1/45 for passenger vessels and IEEE 45-2002 for commercial ships. Every batch undergoes third-party witnessed testing for salt spray and vibration resistance.

How do your lugs prevent galvanic corrosion in mixed-metal installations?

We use naval brass (C46400) with dielectric isolation washers as standard, creating a controlled galvanic couple with steel hulls. For aluminum superstructures, our nickel-aluminum bronze (C63000) versions maintain less than 0.15V potential difference. All lugs include sacrificial zinc anodes on request for additional cathodic protection.

What makes your lugs suitable for dynamic load applications like cranes?

The forged tongue design withstands 10 million cycles at 2G vibration loads per IACS UR E10. Recessed set screws feature nylon-insert locking that maintains torque under constant movement. We offer strain relief boots for flexible cable terminations in articulated machinery.

Can you provide documentation for flag state inspections?

Every order includes material certificates with full traceability to mill sources, 3.1 material certificates per EN 10204, and class-approved test reports. Our documentation packages are pre-organized by vessel system (power distribution, lighting, etc.) for easy inspector review.

How do your subsea versions differ from standard marine lugs?

Subsea lugs feature pressure-compensated epoxy filling tested to 300 bar, with titanium hardware for deepwater applications. They include ROV-operable collet connectors and optional fiber-optic integration for condition monitoring. All designs meet API 17F for subsea production equipment.
