Technical Advantages

For corrosive or washdown environments, enclosures are fabricated using 316L stainless steel with electropolished surfaces to minimize microbial retention or chemical attack. Gasket materials are selected based on chemical resistance (EPDM, silicone, or Viton) and validated to IP66/IP69K ingress protection standards. For non-metallic variants, polycarbonate and fiberglass-reinforced polyester models are UL 746C rated for outdoor UV exposure and dielectric strength.

Enclosures are compatible with UL98 or UL508-rated disconnect switches and circuit breakers, ensuring safe load interruption at full rated current. Short-circuit withstand ratings up to 100kAIC are supported, and units are available pre-fitted with fuse blocks or molded case circuit breakers with visible blade technology. Provision for control wiring isolation, terminal segregation, and operator interface devices (e.g., HMI) is provided per IEC 60204-1.

Mounting Constraints and Retrofit Adaptability

Procurement for retrofit applications often requires form-factor compatibility and ease of field termination. Enclosure models include detailed 3D CAD data with full dimensional tolerances. Adjustable DIN rail systems, universal back panels, and slotted gland plates support cable routing flexibility and conduit entry. Floor-standing models include integrated base channels and leveling pads; wall-mount variants include heavy-duty brackets engineered for seismic compliance (per OSHPD/IBC zones).

All enclosures are manufactured in accordance with UL 508A, CSA C22.2, and IEC 62208 standards. Materials and components meet RoHS and REACH directives. Full documentation packages are available upon request, including BOM traceability, enclosure heat-rise analysis, electrical schematics for disconnect components, and torque specifications for all terminals and fasteners.

Having Doubts? Our FAQ

Check all our Frequently Asked Question

How does Frigate ensure short-circuit protection in custom disconnect enclosures for motor control centers?

Frigate integrates UL 98 or UL 508-rated switches with proper SCCR coordination, based on system fault calculations. Copper busbars are sized using IEC 61439 standards to withstand thermal and mechanical stress. Enclosure reinforcements prevent structural deformation during fault conditions.

What methods does Frigate use to prevent condensation inside outdoor disconnect enclosures?

Frigate uses pressure compensation vents and anti-condensation heaters for humidity control. Desiccant packs and drain holes are added based on site-specific climate data. Thermal simulation is used to predict dew point conditions under load cycles.

How are Frigate’s disconnect enclosures designed to handle high inrush currents in inductive loads?

Switchgear components are selected to tolerate inrush currents based on IEC 60947-3 making/breaking capacity ratings. Frigate incorporates arc-resistant contact systems and pre-charge resistors if needed. Internal layout minimizes loop inductance to reduce transient voltage spikes.

How does Frigate handle grounding continuity in painted or powder-coated enclosures?

Frigate grinds coating at ground lug contact points and uses serrated washers to ensure metal-to-metal bonding. Internal bonding straps connect door and panel grounding. All grounding paths are tested per UL 508A continuity requirements.

What seismic considerations does Frigate include in disconnect enclosures for critical infrastructure?

Frigate designs enclosures with structural bracing and base anchors tested to IBC 2018 and IEEE 693 standards. Component fastening and mounting rails are verified through modal and static load simulations. Certifications are available for Zone 4 seismic compliance.
