Copper Alloy Flanges

When Steel Isn’t the Right Fit, Corrosion and Compatibility Issues Often Slow Down Marine or Water-Based Applications. Copper Alloy Flanges use C83600 bronze, C37700 brass, and C95800 aluminum bronze to delilver stable sealing and long-term durability.

Product Description

With pressure ratings up to Class 150 and thermal stability to 260°C, our flanges suit both low-pressure lines and thermal fluid systems. Copper Alloy flanges follow ASME B16.24 and use brass or bronze hardware to maintain uniform material contact in critical joints.

Rubber, PTFE [Non-metallic only to prevent galvanic corrosion]

Coating/Plating

None [Self-protecting oxide layer]

Manufacturing Method

Sand-cast (C83600), Continuous-cast (C37700), Centrifugal-cast (C95800)

Technical Advantages

Copper alloy flanges handle corrosion better than carbon steel in wet or marine systems and resist dezincification failures common in zinc-heavy materials. The use of cast bronze and continuous-cast brass provides stable microstructure with uniform mechanical strength.

C95800 offers high resistance in seawater and brine lines, while C37700 prevents crack growth in chemically treated water. Face flatness and bolt-hole alignment meet ±1 mm tolerances to avoid sealing failures in soft gasket systems.

Industry Applications

Marine Piping Systems

Supports seawater lines on ships and offshore units, using C95800 aluminum bronze to prevent saltwater-induced corrosion and erosion.

Desalination Plants

Offers non-ferrous, chloride-resistant joints that prevent galvanic issues when connected to stainless pumps and valves.

Water Treatment Facilities

Maintains safe and long-term sealing in chlorinated water environments with dezincification-resistant brass.

HVAC and Cooling Systems

Connects to copper tube networks in chilled water and condenser lines, preventing oxide buildup and galvanic mismatches.

Fire Protection Networks

Compatible with sprinkler systems in buildings and ships, rated for low-pressure water flow with rubber gaskets.

Chemical Dosing Lines

Resists caustic or mildly acidic media, especially in municipal chemical feed systems using bronze slip-on or threaded joints.

Built for Non-Ferrous System Integrity

Water-based or marine applications demand non-ferrous components to avoid dissimilar metal problems and extend service life. Our copper alloy flanges are cast and machined with 20% added thickness for steel-equivalent strength without overdesign.

These flanges suit threaded, slip-on, and blind assemblies in low to medium pressure systems, using flat face sealing with rubber or PTFE gaskets. We certify all materials per EN 10204 3.1 and comply with ASTM and JIS standards for worldwide compatibility.

Having Doubts? Our FAQ

Check all our Frequently Asked Question

Can I use these flanges with stainless steel valves or pumps?

Yes, but only when using a non-metallic gasket like PTFE to prevent galvanic corrosion. The flat face design avoids excessive gasket compression when joining dissimilar metals. This setup works well in low-pressure, water-based systems.

How do you ensure mechanical strength is equivalent to steel flanges?

We add 20% extra thickness to match the yield strength of steel flanges. This adjustment meets ASME B16.24 dimensional intent. It also avoids overloading the joint or distorting under thermal or pressure stress.

Are your bronze and brass flanges suitable for chlorinated or chemically treated water?

Yes, C37700 brass offers dezincification resistance, which handles chlorinated water safely. C83600 bronze performs well in low pH and mildly acidic conditions. These alloys hold up without internal cracking or material loss.

Do you offer mixed alloy combinations within the same flange type for specific use cases?

Yes, we can supply flanges with bodies in C83600 and sealing faces in C95800 when corrosion and strength both matter. This hybrid setup suits marine pump flanges or coastal utility systems. It helps reduce overall cost while maintaining durability at connection points.

How do you control surface finish and sealing performance?

We maintain as-cast finishes between 63–125 μin Ra and machine-sealing surfaces to 32–63 μin Ra. This helps gaskets seat properly without leaks or surface damage. The finish range suits both rubber and PTFE gasket types.
