- Threaded end options include NPT, BSP, and ISO 7/1 for imperial and metric compatibility.
- Butt weld and socket weld ends comply with ASME B31.3 for strong, leak-resistant joints.
- Valve sizes range from ½ to 24 inches to match diverse pipeline diameters.
- Internal trims are customizable for flow coefficients (Cv) from 5 to 2000, optimizing flow control.
- Actuator mounting follows ISO 5211 standard for seamless integration with manual, pneumatic, or electric actuators.
Sealing materials like PTFE, Viton, or metal-to-metal seats respond differently to pressure and heat. For example, PTFE seals work well up to 260°C but can deform under very high pressure. In comparison, metal-to-metal seals handle pressures above 1000 psi and temperatures over 500°C without losing integrity, ensuring leak-tight performance in extreme conditions.
Valve bodies made from hardened stainless steel or duplex alloys resist cavitation better because these materials tolerate the rapid pressure changes that cause vapor bubbles to collapse, which can erode softer metals. Choosing the right body material extends valve life in fluctuating flow and pressure applications.
ISO 5211 standardizes actuator mounting dimensions and shaft interfaces, allowing precise alignment and secure connection between the valve and actuator. This reduces wear on valve stems and prevents misalignment issues that cause early actuator or valve failure in automated shut-off systems.
Custom trims can be designed with specific flow coefficients (Cv), internal contours, and seat angles to match the process flow requirements. This allows precise regulation or complete shut-off with minimal pressure drop, optimizing system efficiency and reducing energy consumption.
API 598 certification ensures valves have passed rigorous tests for leakage, shell integrity, and seat tightness under specified pressures and temperatures. This guarantees that shut-off valves will perform reliably without leakage or failure, crucial for safety and process control in critical industries like oil and gas or chemicals.
