Carbon Steel Flanges

If your pipe systems need stable flow control, flanges must hold tight under pressure and temperature changes. Our Carbon Steel Flanges, made from A105 and IS 2062 materials, meet ASME and IS standards for structural reliability.

Standard Specification

ASTM A105 (US), IS 2062 (India), ASME B16.5, EN 1092-1

Pressure Rating

Class 150 to 2500 (PN6 to PN100) [Derated at high temps per ASME B16.34]

Material

A105 (Forged), IS 2062 Gr.A/B/C (Plate), Equivalent to S235JR/S275JR

Nominal Size

½” to 60″ (DN15 to DN1500) [IS 2062 up to DN3000]

Flange Type

WN, SO, BL, TH, LJ [All types available]

Product Description

Low-grade or mismatched flanges can weaken over time and risk system failure. These units use forged or plate-cut material and deliver consistent sealing performance across Class 150 to 2500 ratings.

Facing Type

RF, FF, RTJ [IS 2062 typically RF only]

Dimensions

ASME B16.5 (A105), IS 6392 (IS 2062) [+5% thickness tolerance]

Bolt Circle Diameter

ASME: ±0.06″ tolerance, IS: ±1mm tolerance

Number & Size of Bolt Holes

ASME: UNC threads, IS: Metric threads [Hole alignment ±1°]

Surface Finish

125-250 μin Ra (A105), 3.2-6.3μm Ra (IS 2062) [Gasket faces machined]

Corrosion Resistance

HDG (IS 4752), FBE coating, Epoxy paint [3LPE for pipelines]

Temperature Rating

-29°C to +425°C (A105), -10°C to +350°C (IS 2062) [Impact tested below -29°C]

Material Certification

ASTM A105: MTR per EN 10204 3.1, IS 2062: IBR approved

Gasket Compatibility

All standard gaskets [IS 2062 prefers full-face]

Coating/Plating

Hot-dip galvanized (IS 2629), Xylan coating, Red oxide primer

Manufacturing Method

A105: Forged, IS 2062: Plate-cut [IS 2062 requires 100% UT for thickness >20mm]

Technical Advantages

Flange sealing performance depends on machining tolerance, coating adhesion, and bolt alignment. Our Carbon Steel Flanges hold ±0.06″ bolt circle and 3.2μm Ra face finish to support accurate gasket seating.

High torque or vibration can displace poorly machined connections. These flanges include RTJ or raised face options and are tested under ASME B16.5 or IS 6392 dimensions to fit demanding assemblies.

Industry Applications

Oil and Gas Pipelines

Handles sour service and thermal cycling with Class 600+ ratings and 3LPE external coatings.

Thermal Power Plants

Connects high-pressure steam lines using A105 WN flanges with RTJ facing.

Refinery Heat Exchangers

Supports temperature swings with machined gasket faces and reinforced bolt circle control.

Fire Protection Systems

Integrates IS 2062 slip-on flanges with HDG finish for corrosion resistance in sprinkler networks.

Heavy Equipment Manufacturing

Uses blind and threaded flanges for pressure testing and hydraulic loop terminations.

Wastewater Treatment Plants

Provides cost-effective IS 2062 flange joints for low-pressure, high-humidity zones.

Material Traceability and Dimensional Control

Projects that involve critical pressure zones demand certified flanges with verified chemical and mechanical properties. Our A105 units come with EN 10204 3.1 MTRs while IS 2062 flanges meet IBR compliance and undergo UT for thickness above 20 mm.

Stocking both forged and plate-cut options allows you to match specification and lead time needs without quality compromise. Every flange batch includes bolt hole verification and PMI results to reduce rework.

Having Doubts? Our FAQ

Check all our Frequently Asked Question

Can I mix A105 and IS 2062 flanges in the same pipeline system?

Yes, but only if the service pressure and temperature match both material limits. A105 suits higher pressure while IS 2062 works better for low-pressure or static applications. Always check flange face type and rating compatibility before mixing.

How does your bolt hole alignment affect field fit-up?

We maintain ±1° alignment tolerance across all flanges. This reduces misfit risks during site installation, especially in large-diameter or multi-point flange joints. It also avoids costly rework in pre-fabricated assemblies.

Do you provide flange surface finish certificates or Ra value test reports?

Yes, we issue finish test reports with Ra values verified during machining. For A105, we maintain 125-250 μin Ra and for IS 2062, 3.2-6.3μm Ra. These ensure gasket grip and seal quality during pressure cycles.

What’s the maximum diameter you can supply in IS 2062 flanges?

We supply up to DN3000 in IS 2062 plate flanges. These are CNC cut and UT tested for thickness above 20 mm as per standard. They serve well in low-pressure, large-diameter tank or duct applications.

How do I choose between RF, FF, and RTJ facing for my system?

Raised face (RF) is standard and fits most gaskets for fluid lines. Use ring-type joint (RTJ) for high-pressure sealing in oil and gas, while flat face (FF) suits cast iron or fragile components. Facing must match gasket type and service pressure to avoid leakage.
