Frigate uses synchronized live tooling and dual-point steady rests to reduce bending during rotation. Each machine configures dynamic tailstock pressure and thermal drift compensation to handle shafts over 1,800 mm in length. Post-turning, concentricity and straightness are verified through dual-axis laser profiling. This maintains axial load reliability for shafts used in crawler tracks and articulated frame systems.
Frigate deploys adaptive facing cycles using rigid turret-mounted tools paired with programmable feed variation. Flatness feedback is captured mid-cycle using capacitive probes that trigger auto-adjustments. Final surfaces are validated through grid-based CMM mapping across the flange diameter. This process maintains true flatness under 0.05 mm, ensuring uniform torque distribution and leak-free sealing in hydraulic systems.
Frigate machines threads using constant-lead control and synchronized feed-to-spindle mapping. Cutting passes are tracked via load monitoring to prevent chip buildup and pitch deviation. Each finished thread undergoes inspection using dual-crest gauges and digital optical comparators. This ensures zero backlash and full torque transfer integrity within drive train locking systems.
Frigate uses adjustable jaw chucks with segmented grip zones to distribute holding pressure across the circumference. Clamping forces are simulated beforehand using stress zone models for each housing design. During turning, workpiece integrity is preserved through low-rpm engagement and vibration-dampened feed profiles. This results in stable form retention for motor casings and actuator housings.
Frigate applies final-pass skimming under controlled coolant flow to maintain uniform tool-chip interface. Each sealing face is measured using white light interferometry to detect peaks, valleys, and waviness beyond visual inspection. Surfaces are approved only if Ra remains below 1.6 μm and lay pattern meets sealing spec. This ensures reliable face-mating performance under cyclic high-pressure pump conditions.
