Frigate uses cross-linked polyolefin or XLPE insulation with high comparative tracking index (CTI > 600) to withstand high DC stress. The insulation system is tested for partial discharge and dielectric breakdown under 1500V DC conditions. Cables are also UV- and ozone-resistant for long-term outdoor exposure. This ensures stable performance in multi-megawatt PV arrays across diverse environmental zones.
Frigate integrates tin- or silver-plated copper terminals with optimized surface contact geometry to reduce resistance. The connectors are spring-loaded to maintain consistent pressure over thermal cycles. Contact resistance remains below 0.5 mΩ even after 500 mating cycles. This minimizes localized heating and energy loss in field-installed systems.
All assemblies are factory-crimped and tested for pull-out strength, insulation resistance, and dielectric withstand. Frigate performs testing per IEC 60228 and IEC 60512-16-21 for conductor class and connection integrity. Terminations are torque-marked and serialized for traceability. This process eliminates on-site variability and supports rapid, error-free installation.
