H05VV-F, H05RN-F, or H07RN-F based on application class

Technical Advantages

Type K Power Cords utilize a recessed female grounding contact that establishes the earth connection before the live terminals engage. This design is critical for equipment requiring Class I protection against electric shock and ensures safe disconnection under load.

Type K Power Cords are constructed with insulation materials rated for sustained operation at 70°C to 105°C. These cords maintain dielectric strength and insulation resistance under continuous thermal loading in high-density electrical environments.

Having Doubts? Our FAQ

Check all our Frequently Asked Question

How does Frigate ensure dimensional consistency in custom-length Type K Power Cords?

Frigate uses automated precision cutting machinery with ±2mm length tolerance to ensure repeatable dimensional accuracy across cable batches. This reduces slack-related EMI and maintains compliance in densely packed cable trays. All cables undergo end-to-end measurement verification before termination. Dimensional control is essential for regulated panel builds and modular power routing.

What insulation materials does Frigate use in high-temperature Type K Power Cords?

Frigate offers Type K Power Cords with insulation rated up to 105°C using thermoplastic elastomers and heat-stable PVC. These materials comply with IEC 60245 and resist deformation under thermal stress. Jacket integrity is maintained even in confined enclosures with limited airflow. Thermal performance is validated through elevated temperature cycling tests.

How does Frigate verify grounding continuity in Type K Power Cords?

Each Type K Power Cord from Frigate undergoes contact resistance testing to confirm continuous grounding from plug to load end. Measurement is performed using a 4-wire Kelvin method to eliminate lead resistance errors. Only cords meeting maximum allowable milliohm thresholds are approved for dispatch. This process ensures safe operation in grounded systems.

Can Frigate provide shielded versions of Type K Power Cords for noise-sensitive installations?

Frigate manufactures shielded Type K Power Cords with braided copper or aluminum foil layers around conductor bundles. Shielding minimizes high-frequency EMI and is grounded at the plug for effective noise dissipation. These variants are recommended for sensitive measurement systems, audio equipment, and laboratory analyzers. Custom terminations and shielding continuity testing are offered on request.

How does Frigate ensure plug-pin retention strength in Type K Power Cords?

Frigate uses overmolding techniques with thermoset compounds that bond plug housings to internal contact pins. Retention force tests are performed to IEC 60884 standards to ensure mechanical durability. This prevents contact displacement due to insertion cycles or tensile stress. Mechanical integrity ensures safe connectivity in field-deployed or vibration-prone environments.
