Frigate maintains impedance consistency by tightly controlling conductor concentricity, dielectric uniformity, and jacket extrusion tolerances within ±0.05 mm. Dielectric materials like expanded PTFE and foamed PE are processed using precision gas-injection to maintain a stable εr profile. Impedance is verified using time-domain reflectometry (TDR) over 100% of each batch. This ensures minimal signal reflection and return loss in high-frequency transmission systems.
Frigate designs hybrid cables with individual foil-shielded data pairs and spatial separation from power conductors using conductive PE separators. These constructions limit capacitive coupling and maintain crosstalk below -65 dB up to 1 GHz. Additional braid layers with >90% coverage are applied over the entire assembly for common-mode noise suppression. Grounding continuity is validated using low-resistance path testing per ASTM D2861.
Thermal aging tests are conducted in controlled ovens up to 150°C for 168 hours per IEC 60216. Post-exposure, samples are tested for insulation breakdown, tensile retention, and elongation properties. Jacket materials like HF-TPE and TPU are selected for their UV and ozone resistance in compliance with ISO 4892-2. This ensures long-term mechanical stability in rooftop and remote BTS enclosures.
Frigate uses fine-stranded Class 6 conductors with short lay lengths to reduce internal conductor fatigue from continuous vibration. Cable cores are reinforced with non-wicking aramid fillers for dimensional stability under axial stress. Vibration resistance is tested using random frequency sweep profiles in accordance with IEC 60068-2-6. Connector interfaces are supported with overmolded strain reliefs tested for >50N axial retention.
Frigate uses halogen-free, low smoke compounds that comply with IEC 60332-3-24 for vertical flame spread and EN 50267 for halogen acid gas emission. Cables are subjected to FT4/FT6 flame tests depending on market requirements. Smoke density is measured using ISO 5659-2, ensuring optical density below 0.4 m²/g. This makes the cables suitable for high-density racks and enclosed control environments.
