Y-Splitter Power Cords

Y-Splitter Power Cords supports simultaneous power delivery to two end-point devices from a single input source. Load distribution is optimized through matched impedance across both branches, ensuring uniform current flow. The parallel wiring configuration maintains phase consistency and minimizes transient voltage imbalances in high-load circuits.

-20°C to +75°C operating range

Shielding (Optional)

100% aluminum foil or 85% coverage braided copper for EMI mitigation

Flame Retardancy Standard

UL94V-0 (molded connectors); Cable jacket to UL 1581 VW-1

Bending Radius

Minimum 6 × outer diameter (OD), tested per ASTM D4565

UL 817, CSA C22.2 No. 21, IEC 60320, RoHS 3, REACH

UL 817, CSA C22.2 No. 21, IEC 60320, RoHS 3, REACH

Technical Advantages

Y-Splitter Power Cord is constructed with overmolded junctions and strain-relieved connectors to resist mechanical fatigue. The Y-branch interface is compression-molded to avoid flexural failure at bifurcation points. Tested over multiple thousand bend cycles, the cable maintains contact stability under dynamic routing and frequent handling.

Y-Splitter Power Cord conforms to international standards including UL 817, IEC 60320, CSA C22.2 No. 21, and RoHS 3. Insulation materials meet UL94V-0 flame retardancy, and dielectric testing ensures insulation withstand above 2000V AC. Each unit is hipot and continuity tested to eliminate insulation faults and contact dropout.

Industry Applications

Data Center Power Distribution

Supplies dual servers or network devices from a single PDU output, reducing cable runs and improving airflow in dense rack setups.

Laboratory Instrumentation Racks

Powers two precision instruments from one source, maintaining consistent voltage levels and minimizing cabling in confined equipment enclosures.

Broadcast Equipment Arrays

Supports simultaneous power to audio-video processors or monitors, ensuring phase-aligned power delivery in synchronized multimedia signal chains.

Medical Device Integration

Connects patient monitoring and auxiliary equipment from one power source while maintaining electrical isolation compliance and low leakage currents.

Industrial Control Panels

Feeds two PLCs or motor drives from a single breaker point, reducing terminal load and simplifying panel wiring complexity.

Telecommunication Relay Cabinets

Distributes power to redundant routers or switches, ensuring uninterrupted operation during maintenance or hardware failover in telecom backbone systems.

Space-Conscious Cable Management

Y-Splitter Power Cord is designed to replace two separate line Power cords with a single input feed, reducing cable density in constrained panels and server racks. The reduced routing complexity simplifies airflow management and improves thermal efficiency in enclosures. Jacket material supports tight bend radius without compromising insulation integrity.

Y-Splitter Power Cord withstands operating temperatures from -20°C to +75°C, making it suitable for industrial and outdoor enclosures with passive ventilation. The PVC or LSZH outer jacket resists oils, chemicals, and UV exposure. Electrical performance remains stable under fluctuating humidity and voltage conditions over prolonged use.

Having Doubts? Our FAQ

Check all our Frequently Asked Question

How does Frigate ensure equal voltage drop across both branches of a Y-Splitter Power Cord?

Frigate uses precision extrusion and length-controlled branching during cable formation to maintain uniform resistance in both output legs. High-strand-count copper conductors are matched for impedance symmetry. Voltage drop is validated under loaded test conditions before shipment. This ensures both connected devices receive balanced power.

Can Frigate customize Y-Splitter Power Cord for mixed connector terminations on each branch?

Yes, Frigate supports mixed-format assemblies like IEC C13 + NEMA 5-15R on dual outputs. This is useful when two different device types require power from a single source. Connector mating specifications are reviewed per IEC/NEMA compatibility. Each assembly is continuity and polarity tested individually.

What type of overmold Frigate uses to reduce mechanical stress at the Y-junction?

Frigate applies high-pressure PVC or TPE overmold at the split point using dual-cavity molds. This reduces strain concentration where conductor routing diverges. The mold shape is designed to disperse torsional forces during repeated flexing. Cycle life is verified through bend and pull testing per UL 817.

How does Frigate address EMI concerns in Y-Splitter Power Cords used in medical or RF environments?

Frigate offers shielded Y-Splitter Power Cords with optional aluminum foil or braided copper shielding. The shielding continuity is grounded through appropriate connector pinouts. This limits conducted and radiated EMI, especially in systems with sensitive analog electronics. Testing is done under EN55032 for emissions control.

Can Frigate manufacture Y-Splitter Power Cords with Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) jackets for restricted environments?

Frigate provides LSZH jacketing options for data centers, marine, and aerospace applications where fire toxicity is a concern. These jackets comply with IEC 60754 and IEC 61034 standards. LSZH Y-Splitter cords maintain the same electrical and mechanical properties as PVC equivalents. Custom lengths and halogen-free overmolding are also supported.
